He enjoys private practice and spending time with his physician spouse and their three children.

Dr. Brantley has been a physician in the Charlottesville area since 1997. He did his undergraduate training at Duke University and went to medical school at Vanderbilt University. After completing his residency at the University of Virginia, he joined the UVA faculty in the Department of Internal Medicine. He served on the UVA faculty full time and practiced primary care, taught medical students and residents in the clinic and hospital, and became medical director of University Physicians, Orange.

In the Charlottesville Community, Dr. Brantley has served on the Martha Jefferson Hospital Institutional Review Board, as the Chief of the Medicine Section, on the Medical Executive Committee, the contracting committee for the Sentara Quality Care Network, and the Hospital Board for Medical Affairs and Patient Safety.
